OIC Foreign Ministers meeting: Pakistan resolution on Kashmir issue passed.

 The 47th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Niger was a great diplomatic success for Pakistan.


The OIC meeting unanimously passed the resolution proposed by Pakistan on Occupied Kashmir and Islamophobia.


The Foreign Office also hailed the resolution passed unanimously at the OIC summit as a major diplomatic achievement.


The Jammu and Kashmir dispute has been on the agenda of the UN Security Council for more than seven decades, according to a resolution of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.


The resolution rejected India's move on August 5, 2019, calling it a direct violation of Security Council resolutions.

The resolution of the OIC Foreign Ministers' Meeting stated that the Indian measures were aimed at changing the proportion of the population in the Occupied Territories, snatching other rights of Kashmiris, including referendums.


According to the Foreign Office, the resolution called on India to extend the role of the UN Military Observer Group to the Line of Control (LoC).



The resolution also called on India to resolve all disputes, including Jammu and Kashmir, Sir Creek and river water, in accordance with international law and past agreements.


The resolution of the OIC Foreign Ministers' Meeting called on the international community, including the United Nations, to monitor the situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The resolution called on the United Nations and the international community to play a role in resuming talks between Pakistan and India as soon as possible.


The resolution called on the UN special envoy to continuously monitor the human rights violations of innocent Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir and inform the UN Secretary-General.


According to the resolution, the Secretary General of the OIC, the Human Rights Commission and the Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir should talk to India on the issue and submit a report.
